CINCINNATI, OH (FOX19) - Winter weather is hitting parts of Cincinnati and road crews are ready.
Tri-state maintenance crews were pre-treating roads last night with a salt-water mixture called Brine. Officials say that Brine helps prevent snow and ice from sticking to the pavement.
Crews in the southern suburbs are salting major routes and saying ground temperatures are imperative to how much solution they put down.
Before you hit the roads remember that bridges, overpasses and ramps freeze first and that we can still be above freezing temperatures for it to get slick.
If you find yourself sharing the road with the work trucks, remember to leave plenty of distance between your vehicle and the crews.
