CINCINNATI (AP) - The Reds signed Skip Schumaker to a two-year, $3 million deal on Tuesday, giving them a versatile player who can move to second base or any of the three outfield spots.

Schumaker gets $2 million next season and $2.5 million in 2015. The deal includes a club option for 2016 with a base salary of $2.5 million and a buyout of $500,000.

The 33-year-old Schumaker batted .263 in 125 games for the Dodgers last season with two homers and 30 RBIs, playing second base and all three outfield spots. In eight previous years with St. Louis, Schumaker batted .288 with 23 homers and 211 RBIs.

To open a spot on the 40-man roster, the Reds designated outfielder Derrick Robinson for assignment.
