Tommy Tuberville says UC and Louisville need to continue their football rivalry.
The Bearcats will play U of L in the final game of the regular season, but since Louisville is leaving to join the ACC after this year, the future of the rivalry is in jeopardy.
"What's best about college football, and separates it from every other sport, is we have rival games," said Tuberville. "Everybody needs a rival and, for us, this is a natural rival."
Tuberville, who will get his first experience coaching in this rivalry a week from Thursday, said the schools need to find a way to schedule the game despite different conferences.
"We need to play this game for the fans, the interest and for college football. Everybody needs a game that's relevant no matter what their record is."
UC and Louisville are tied for second place in the AAC behind UCF.
