HAMILTON, OH (FOX19) - After being left hungry and cold for several days, a Butler County Sheriff saved two dogs left behind by an evicted owner.

Sheriff Richard Jones received information on Monday indicating that two dogs have been left outside for several days. Jones responded to the 500 block of North Seventh Street in Hamilton and found two dogs left behind by an evicted owner.

Officers say that Spanky and Leila were soon located, reportedly cold and very scared.

The dogs were fed and watered, and taken to the Animal Friends Humane Society shelter, where they are currently being cared for.
