CINCINNATI, OH (FOX19) -

Kroger, FOX19 and St. Vincent de Paul are teaming up once again for the ‘Food From The Heart' holiday food drive. The campaign runs now through January 4, 2014.

This week, 4,856 lbs of food were donated making it 19,462 lbs. total collected to date.

How to feed a local family in need this holiday season:

  • Purchase non-perishable food items and drop them in the food collection barrels located at the store entrances.
  • Drop a cash donation in the donation boxes at the check out
counters at all Kroger stores – look for the clear plastic boxes with St. Vincent de Paul's blue logo.
  • Make an online donation to help feed a local family in need.

A $1 donation will provide 4 meals for local families. This year's goal is 70,000 pounds or 219 barrels of food; enough to feed nearly 2,150 local families for one week.
