NORTH COLLEGE HILL, OH (FOX19) - The Hamilton County Coroner's Office has identified the 50-year-old man killed in a large North College Hill apartment fire on November 29.
Fire crews were called to the 1500 block of West Galbraith Road around 4:35 p.m. on November 29.
Crews arriving on the scene reported heavy smoke coming from the third floor of the three-story building. High heat and deteriorating conditions forced crews to take a defensive approach to fighting the blaze until the fire was knocked down.
Firefighters fought the blaze for approximately 45 minute before conditions were stable enough to enter the building.
Fire crews say that the first two floors of the building had already been searched and cleared of residents. However, after an extensive search, firefighters found a male victim deceased on the third floor. Firefighters say that the apartment sustained heavy fire and structural damage.

The remaining areas of the floor were searched without any additional victims found.
Of the 24 units in the apartment, crews say that several third floor apartments sustained heavy fire damage. The remaining apartments suffered heavy smoke and water damage. Tenants displaced by the fire were assisted by the American Red Cross.
