Surfers attacked by sharks in California, Hawaii
Beaches near California's Point Reyes National Seashore will be closed for the next five days, following an attack by what may be a great white shark. A surfer was bitten on the leg Sunday about 50 miles north of San Francisco. He told authorities the six-to-eight-foot shark released him after he hit it on the head. There also was a shark attack over the weekend in Hawaii. A man was attacked Saturday while spearfishing off the island of Molokai. He's had surgery for bites on his face and shoulder. Authorities say the bite marks indicate the shark was about 12 feet long.
