DEARBORN COUNTY, IN (FOX19) - An ex-Indiana parole officer has been charged in the alleged rape of a parolee.
A warrant was issued for Charles Michael Sproessig, 42, on charges of rape, sexual battery, intimidation and official misconduct. Prosecutors said an investigation revealed Sproessig, a former parole officer for the Indiana Department of Corrections, allegedly had non-consensual sex with a parolee.
According to the Dearborn County Prosecutor's Office, Sproessig allegedly used his position as a parole officer to force the victim into sexual intercourse and did so while armed with a weapon.
He's been charged with rape while armed with a deadly weapon, sexual battery with a deadly weapon, intimidation with a deadly weapon, and official misconduct.
Sproessig was arrested Friday morning and taken to the Dearborn County Jail.
