WALNUT HILLS, OH ( FOX19) - The Cincinnati Fire Department (CFD) has reported a one-alarm structure fire that occurred yesterday in Walnut Hills.
At 5:00 p.m. the Cincinnati Emergency Communication Center (ECC) received several telephone calls reporting a vehicle on fire inside 2420 Concord Avenue.
Initial arriving fire companies reported a "working" fire in a 1-story concrete block auto repair shop with heavy smoke showing with an exposure building in close proximity to the building involved in fire.
Firefighters conducted an aggressive interior attack on the fire while simultaneously ventilating the structure. Primary and secondary searches proved negative. The fire was brought under control within 30 minutes.
Damage to the structure is extensive a total of four automobiles were inside the structure at the time of the fire. Damage is estimated at 8,000 dollars to building and the contents.
There were no injuries to civilians or firefighters. Due to the inclement weather, two additional fire companies were requested to assist.
The cause and origin of this incident was due a drop light being dropped in a flammable liquid accidentally. 47 firefighters and 10 fire companies operated at this incident.
