CINCINNATI, OH (FOX19) - A family was able to escape a house fire in St. Bernard.
Crews responded to the fire around 5 p.m at a home on Dartmouth Drive, near Woodside Heights.
The family was home at the time of the fire and they managed to escaped unscathed. Holes had to be cut in the roof of the home to put out the blaze.
The fire was successfully put out, but there was still heavy smoke lingering on the property an hour after it ended.
Investigators say it started because the owners tried to thaw the gutters with a torch.
