Indiana State Police re-open 32-year-old homicide case

CEDAR GROVE, IN (FOX19) -

Indiana State Police have re-opened a 32-year-old homicide investigation in Franklin County.

The body of Donald Elmo Quinlan, 65, was found on the afternoon of Oct. 2, 1981 at his home near the Whitewater River in Cedar Grove, Ind. Cedar Grove is about 35 miles west of Cincinnati.

Police they are re-opening the investigation because of "advancements in forensic technology and new witness information."

Indiana State Sgt. Noel Houze told FOX19 Monday that investigators don't want to release a lot of details.

"It's mainly just to try to jog the memory of someone that may have had information back then … was either of afraid to come forward with it or thought ‘well this information doesn't mean anything,'" he said.
