CINCINNATI, OH (FOX19) - Streetcar supporters are not willing to see an end to the project. They made that very clear on Monday.
Members of the "Believe in Cincinnati" movement announced a plan to keep the streetcar on track by putting the decision in the hands of voters. Organizers announced the start of a petition drive with the goal of placing the issue on the ballot.
"It makes absolutely no sense to lose millions of dollars already invested in this infrastructure project that will go to waste and have nothing to show for it," says streetcar supporter Ryan Messer.
The federal government is giving the city a deadline of December 19 to make a decision before taking back federal dollars it gave the city for the project.
John Cranley says the City Council will make a final decision next Wednesday.
