1 detained after officer fires shot in College Hill

COLLEGE HILL (FOX19) -

One person has been detained after an officer fired a shot in College Hill on Wednesday afternoon.

The incident happened around 2:30 p.m. near the intersection of Hamilton Avenue and North Bend Road.

Officers say that a female officer on patrol in the area was flagged for a domestic issue. The incident in question happened in a vehicle parked in a parking lot across the street from A & S Fashion.

Officers say no one was injured in the incident. It is still uncertain what caused the officer to discharge her weapon.

"It is still in the preliminary stages of what transpired between the officer and the individual in the vehicle that resulted in the firearm being discharged," says Captain Paul Neudigate. "Of course, that will be covered in a much more extensive investigation by our criminal investigation."

One person was detained following the incident. FOX19 will continue to update the story as details become available.
