Lawsuit: Pharmaceutical company tried to gouge pharmacy for flu vaccine
Kansas officials are suing a pharmaceutical distributor for allegedly trying to gouge a pharmacy for flu vaccine at more than than one-thousand-percent of the usual cost.
The company -- Meds-Stat -- is accused of trying to sell the vaccine to a Kansas City pharmacy for 900-hundred dollars a vial on Friday. A week earlier, the company was selling the vaccine for 85-dollars per vial. Each vial contains roughly ten doses.
There have been scattered reports of price gouging nationwide since the government announced this season's flu vaccine supply has been halved because of production problems.
