Lynndie England Is A Mom

Lynndie England, soldier shown in notorious abuse photos, gives birth

An Army spokesman confirms that Private First Class Lynndie England -- perhaps the most recognized face in the Abu Ghraib prisoner abuse scandal -- is a mom. England gave birth Sunday at the Fort Bragg hospital in North Carolina. Her family says no details will be released, but The Baltimore Sun reports the baby is a boy. England's attorneys say the baby's father is another soldier implicated in the Abu Ghraib scandal, Specialist Charles Graner. Both are members of a military police unit from Maryland. England was photographed at the Iraqi prison posing with nude detainees and holding one prisoner on a leash.

She faces a court-martial in January on charges of abusing prisoners and committing indecent acts. She could get up to 38 years in prison if convicted.
