Elderly woman hit by van in Meijer parking lot

FAIRFIELD, OH (FOX19) -

An 83-year-old woman was injured today after being hit by a van in a parking lot.

It happened at the Fairfield Meijer when the woman was walking in the parking lot towards the store. An 80-year-old woman driving a van lost control when pulling out of a parking space, hitting the woman and four other vehicles.

The woman who was struck was pinned under the van for a short period of time. Officers closed the section of the parking lot while working to get her out and conducting an investigation.

She was flown by Air Care to University Hospital with multiple injuries and her condition is unknown at this time. The driver of the van was cited for failure to control her vehicle.
