CINCINNATI, OH (FOX19) -

The Sundance Film Festival is one of the most prestigious festivals in the world. Every year, thousands of movies are submitted. One of the short films accepted into next month's Sundance Festival, "Funnel," is by Cincinnati native Andre Hyland.

Hyland and cinematographer Shane Johnston sat down with FOX19's Jessica Brown to discuss the making of the 7-minute-film.

Hyland says "its about a guy who's car is broken down and he's sent on a fantastically mundane adventure across an urban sprawl wasteland."

Hyland plays the character with the funnel sent on the grand adventure to fix his car. The film was shot in the Madeira, Milford and Kenwood areas over the course of one day.

It was around this time last year that Johnston and Hyland thought up the idea for the time. Now, Hyland resides in Los Angeles and Johnston resides in Denver.

Breaking Bad actor Bob Odenkirk served as a creative and strategic mentor on the film and offered to lend his name to the credits. Odenkirk had previously worked with Hyland on a project for Comedy Central.

Bob Odenkirk is quoted as saying that "Funnel" showcases the "comically pathetic side of human behavior."
