Madisonville woman visits jail, ends up staying longer than expected

HOPKINS COUNTY, KY (WFIE) - A Madisonville woman visits inmate in jail, and ends up staying longer than expected.

Madisonville Police arrested 36-year-old Stephanie Niswonger of 151 Meadowlark Lane for public intoxication, carrying a concealed weapon, and possession drug paraphernalia.

Officials say Niswonger entered the Hopkins County Jail to devlier medication to an inmate. Officers noticed she had slurred speech and dialated eyes. Niswonger told officers she took pills, smoked meth and marijuana.

When officials patted her down, officers found a knife in her pocket and prescription pills.

Officials also found a plastic bag with marijuana residue in her shoe.

Niswonger is being lodged in the Hopkins County Jail.
