CINCINNATI, OH (FOX19) - Due to the Christmas holiday, Cincinnati, Covington and Rumpke trash collections are on a one day delay.
Trash collectors realize that the holidays typically bring extra waste in homes due to wrapping paper and boxes, so the city of Cincinnati is allocating 'winter holiday amnesty days'. During this time residents may set out additional trash in sealed plastic bags next to their City-approved containers.
The amnesty days are December 26 - January 3.
During amnesty days, residents must call 561-6000 to schedule a special pickup if they need to dispose of extra large and bulky items.
Rumpke says waste increases 25% during the holidays. Click here for their tips on holiday recycling.
