Man injured after car hits tree in Green Township

GREEN TOWNSHIP, OH (FOX19) -

A Green Township man is in the hospital after his car hit a tree Friday afternoon.

Trevor Brewer, 24, was driving on Westwood Northern Blvd when his vehicle struck the curb, causing him to lose control. Brewer attempted to regain control but was not successful. His Toyota Camry skid through the left lane and hit the grassy median where it was stopped upon striking a tree.

Brewer was assisted out of his vehicle by witnesses to the crash and was transported to University Hospital. He is reportedly in stable condition.

Brewer was not wearing a seatbelt and authorities believe speed is the main contributor to the crash.

He was cited for failing to maintain reasonable control, driving under an OVI suspension, and not wearing a seatbelt.

The accident remains under investigation.
