AURORA, IN (FOX19) - A domestic situation in Aurora, Indiana resulted in one man being shot and two individuals being arrested.
Officers say that the incident happened on Friday evening at a residence on Hanover Avenue. Police were called to the residence after receiving reports of a domestic altercation involving a firearm.
Upon arrival, authorities say that 24-year-old Zachary Murray advised an officer that he had retrieved a handgun and a rifle following a fight with his half-brother.
Murray tells police that he and his half-brother, Joshua Sigmon, struggled over the rifle earlier that evening. During the struggle, officers say that Murray suffered a gunshot wound to his right thigh.
Murray was transported to Dearborn County Hospital to be treated for his injuries. He was later transported to Dearborn County Law Enforcement Center where he is being held on charges of intimidation with a deadly weapon, criminal recklessness with a deadly weapon and pointing a firearm.
Officers say after search warrants were obtained, numerous items of evidence were recovered from the residence.
Following the search, the owner of the home, Patrick Murray, was also arrested. He has been charged with possession of marijuana, possession of paraphernalia and maintaining a common nuisance.
