HIGHLAND COUNTY, OH (FOX19) -

A New Vienna, Ohio man is charged for the eighth time for operating a vehicle under the influence.

John C. Knisley was arrested by Ohio State Highway Patrol after being involved in a non-injury crash on December 31. The crash occurred on State Route 134 just north of the Village of Lynchburg.

Knisley is scheduled to appear in Hillsboro Municipal Court on January 10. He has seven prior OVI convictions in the past 15 years.

The state of Ohio has recently revamped their OVI offender registry. The registry allows the public to access an online database of information on offenders with five or more convictions in the past 20 years.

The web site is intended to deter repeat offenders like Knisley from driving under the influence. Knisley is one of 5,300 offenders currently listed on the site.
