Bengals fans react to playoff loss

CINCINNATI, OH (FOX19) - The playoff loss to the Chargers was heart breaking for many Bengals fans. FOX19's Gordon Graham was at The Banks after the game and talked to fans who had hoped this year would turn out differently.

"We were hoping that the Bengals would go all the way, but unfortunately they didn't, but we're going to be back next year." Said Marjie Hartke of Western Hills

As the Bengals offense repeatedly failed to deliver, some fans found it difficult to watch. Daniel Cook from Erlanger said the loss brought him to tears, while others only expressed their frustration with the lack of a playoff win.

"I don't think Marvin Lewis can be blamed for this. I think that Andy Dalton's a great quarterback, but the truth is he can't throw a long ball and we got to have somebody who can throw a long ball," said Karen Valz of Covington. Her sentiment rang true with many people Gordon spoke with, who put the blame on Dalton for the loss.

Others were not so forgiving of the coaching staff, with many fans saying the wanted Marvin Lewis to go.

It was overall a tough game for fans, who have been waiting for a playoff win for 24 years. As disappointed as many were, the loyalty to the Bengals rang true in everyone's comments.
