Sunday, a Lindale woman celebrated her 100th birthday, surrounded by family in her home.
Mrs. Marion Hackett was a nurse at Camp Fannin during World War II. She started working at the UT Health Science Center long before it was a university hospital. Then, she retired after 30 years of service as a nurse. Mrs. Hackett says her secret to a long life is simple.
"Praising the Lord. I'm just so thankful that the Lord has spared me. My health hasn't been too bad. I have a lot to be thankful for," says Marion.
Marion's family says she is still sharp as a nail.
