UNIVERSITY HEIGHTS, OH (FOX19) - Cleanup is continuing on the University of Cincinnati campus tonight after three pipes burst all within an hour at the university's Edwards Center.
Two smaller pipes started leaking around 11:30 a.m.
Students were briefly evacuated because the leak set off the building's fire alarm system. After that incident, the building's major water main burst. That dumped a lot of water that actually collapsed the ceiling of the building's parking garage.
Edwards Center is located at Corry Boulevard and Jefferson Avenue on UC's main campus.
Later on Wednesday, UC reported that Kettering Lab Complex was closed because of water leaking onto high voltage gear. Facilities Management and Environmental Health & Safety were on the scene Thursday evaluating the condition of the electrical and ventilation systems.
UC says they will not have a time-frame of re-occupying Kettering Lab until the evaluation is complete.
The lab is located at on UC's medical campus.
