CINCINNATI, OH (FOX19) - The following are some of the events happening in the Tri-State for Martin Luther King Jr. Day on Monday.
2014 Civil Rights Commemorative March, 10:30 a.m. Monday, National Underground Railroad Freedom Center, Downtown.
Participants gather on Rosa Parks Way, near the door of the Harriet Tubman Theater. A brief service by local religious leaders begins the march. Marchers walk up Vine Street to Fountain Square for a short program, then to Music Hall. A brief Fountain Square program begins at 11 a.m.
The Martin Luther King, Jr. Annual Commemorative Celebration, noon Monday, Music Hall, Over-the-Rhine
The program includes music by the Martin Luther King Chorale with student choirs from schools around the region. This year's speaker is Tonya Matthews, president and CEO of the Michigan Science Center and formerly with the Cincinnati Museum Center.
Main Library, Children's Learning Center, 800 Vine St., Downtown, 513-369-6922
Celebrate the life of King at 1 p.m. in the Children's Learning Center at the Main Library. Children's Theatre of Cincinnati actor Deondra Kamau Means will perform "Martin's Dream," a one-man show that explores the real person behind the historic figure. Afterward, families are invited to make a special inspirational craft.

Celebrate King's life at 1:30 p.m. during the MLK Day story time. You'll hear stories, sing songs, make a craft and discuss the civil rights movement and King's life. For children ages 6-12 and their families.

Reflect on the message of King by listening to the book "Martin's Big Words" by Doreen Rappaport being read at 2 p.m. during story time and decorate a word cloud for the library's bulletin board display at the branch.

Listen to stories about King and his dreams for the future at 2 p.m. during the "Dreaming with Dr. Martin Luther King Jr." program. Then participate in a balloon launch of your own dreams.

Join the library at 2 p.m. for the Martin Luther King Jr. Day celebration with a screening of the movie "Our Friend Martin" and snacks.

"Martin Luther King, Jr. Day: Moving Forward in Unity," a special event open to employees and the community. Executive coach, consultant and facilitator Andrá "Khafre" Ward will mark the 50th anniversary of King's "I Have a Dream" 1963 speech that the nation remembered last year.
