Country 'outlaws' added to Buckle Up Music Festival lineup

CINCINNATI, OH (FOX19) - It's shaping up to be a star-studded show! Buckle Up Music Festival has announced several acts that will play at the three-day country music festival planned for the banks of the Ohio River this summer.

Bands that have been announced so far include:

  • Willie Nelson
  • Jamey Johnson
  • The Band Perry
  • Alabama
  • Eli Young Band
  • JT Hodges
  • The Railers
  • The Lone Bellow
  • Natalie Stovall

Seventy-one more acts will be announced in coming days.

From the man who brought you Bunbury and MidPoint, Buckle Up Music Festival will bring country music fans down to Sawyer Point and Yeatman's Cove on July 18-20, 2014.

Yes, it's the weekend immediately following Bunbury Music Festival. Yes, it's the same location and similar layout. But this one will attract a different type of scene.

One where belt buckles are encouraged.

Donabedian says a colleague suggested the idea for a country festival immediately following Bunbury. At first he thought she was crazy, but after contemplating the idea, he thought about how everything would already be set up...

So why not?

"We'll have everything from legends to up and coming," Donabedian told FOX19.

Buckle Up will feature country artists with a dash of bluegrass, americana, folk and roots rock. The "down home" type of thing. Donabedian says they'll announce about 16-20 acts in the lineup on Friday, Jan. 17 and continue to reveal more in the coming weeks.

Like Bunbury, Buckle Up tickets will be available as one-day passes ($55) and three-day passes ($130).

So buckle up, Buttercup, and hold on tight.
