The Hamilton County Recycling and Solid Waste District today had a special one-day collection event for electronics.
Residents were invited to drop off computers, televisions, speakers, printers cables and more at Colerain High School.
Hamilton County is joining national efforts to keep electronics out of landfills. Improper disposal of electronic products can lead to air and water pollution as well as greenhouse gas emissions, according to the Environmental Protection Agency.
The EPA says recycling one million laptops saves the energy equivalent to the electricity used by more that 3,500 homes a year.
