Police ID man killed in Clifton double shooting

CLIFTON, OH (FOX19) -

Cincinnati Police have identified the 45-year-old man killed in a double shooting Monday afternoon in Clifton.

Crews were called to the 100 block of Woolper Avenue, which is located between Vine Street and Clifton Avenue. Police say that two victims were found shot at the location around noon on Monday.

Officers say that the shooting initially happened in the 3600 block Irving Avenue. Police say that the victims were shot while sitting in their vehicle.  

"There was some altercation that occurred. Two people were shot, they drove away and they ended up on Woolper," explains Paul Humphries of the Cincinnati Police Department.  

Officers say both victims were taken to UC Medical Center where one of the victims was pronounced dead. Police have identified the deceased victim as 45-year-old William Moritz.

Police say the second victim was treated for a gunshot wound and released. His name has not been released. 

Police say they received numerous tips from individuals, which led to a search warrant of a home on Irving Street. Authorities say they are interviewing two individuals in relation to the incident. Officers say that no charges have been filed at this time.
