Fire crews pull unconscious woman from Walnut Hills fire

WALNUT HILLS (FOX19) - Firefighters say that one victim was found unconscious inside of a burning house in Walnut Hills.

The fire broke out just after 8:45 p.m. in the 2200 block of May Street.

Crews arriving on the scene reported flames coming from the first floor of a single-family dwelling. Firefighters say a female victim was found collapsed inside of the building.

The victim was pulled from the burning building and taken to U.C. Medical Center by emergency paramedics arriving on the scene. Officials say that the victim remains in critical condition.

Crews say they had to fight the fire defensively due to extreme conditions. Firefighters remained on the scene long after the fire broke out checking for fire extensions.

Damage has been estimated at $100 thousand. Crews say the building is at a total loss.

The cause of the fire is currently under investigation
