CINCINNATI, OH (FOX19) -

Two Deputy Sheriffs were injured this morning while assisting a disabled motorist on I-71 North near Stewart Road, causing the interstate to be temporarily shut down.

The roadway was still slick with ice around 9 a.m. when 26-year-old Jessica Wiseman's SUV got stuck after sliding off the road. Wiseman told FOX19 that she was waiting for roadside assistance when Deputy Eric Kidd and Deputy Tony Lipps showed up to help.

The Deputies were attempting to push Jessica's car when a vehicle traveling northbound began to lose control. That vehicle, driven by 37-year-old Chico Thomas, was sliding across the roadway towards Wiseman and the deputies.

The vehicle collided with Wiseman's SUV while Kidd and Lipps dove on to the guardrail, avoiding it's path.

Kidd, Lipps and Wiseman were all transported to Bethesda North Hospital where their conditions were listed as stable.

Wiseman told FOX19 that she has never been so frightened in her life, and that even though she is a little sore, she's happy to be in one piece.

Thomas was cited for failure to maintain reasonable control of a motor vehicle and operating an on-road worthy vehicle.
