Reds announce Hall of Fame Induction Weekend

CINCINNATI, OH (FOX19) -

The Cincinnati Reds Hall of Fame & Museum will honor the careers of Ken Griffey Jr., Dave Parker, Ron Oester and the late Jake Beckley during 2014 Hall of Fame Induction Weekend, Aug. 8-10, in Cincinnati. 

The induction ceremony for the class of 2014 is Aug. 9 prior to the Reds vs. Miami Marlins game at 7:10 p.m. 

The weekend will conclude with the Reds Hall of Fame Induction Gala presented by Clark Schaefer Hackett at the Northern Kentucky Convention Center on Aug. 10.  

Joining the 2014 Hall of Fame class at the gala will be Reds Hall of Fame members, Reds alumni and players and coaches from the 2014 Reds. In 2012, more than 1,400 fans attended the event.

Additional details and a full schedule of events for the weekend will be announced at a later date.

Here is more information about the 2014 class: 

• Ken Griffey Jr.  was a three-time National League All-Star during his eight-and-a-half seasons in Cincinnati.

• Dave Parker played four seasons for the Reds from 1984 to 1987 and was a two-time National League All-Star.

• Rob Oester played his entire 13-year Major League career with the Reds and appeared in more games at second base than all but two players in franchise history.

• Jake Beckley played seven seasons for the Reds from 1897 to 1903 and his .325 average ranks third on the Reds all-time list.
