NORTHSIDE, OH (FOX19) -

Ohio Attorney General Mike DeWine is seeking information about the unsolved homicide of a 24-year-old Northside man in 2007.

John Harris was shot to death on June 7, 2007 outside his Fergus Street home.

Authorities believe robbery was the primary motive. Harris had just returned from visiting relatives in Lincoln Heights when he was attacked and his car stolen. The suspects also took Harris' necklace.

Harris' vehicle was found nearby but the suspects escaped after a high-speed pursuit that ended in Walnut Hills.

"Although it has been over six years since this horrible tragedy occurred, we will continue to work on seeking justice for the Harris family," Cincinnati Police Detective Greg Gehring said.

Those with information are asked to call police at 513-352-3542.

The case is part of the DeWine's unsolved homicides initiative that was developed in Sept. 2012. The initiative was started in an effort to create a statewide database of unsolved homicides in the state.

DeWine's office said the initiative goal's is to bring widespread visibility to the cases, increase the possibility for tips and help jurisdictions compare details of unsolved crimes.

The database can be found here.

"Right now there are more than 1,800 cases listed in the database," DeWine said. "I urge those with information on Mr. Harris' case or any other unsolved crime in Ohio to come forward and help authorities bring those responsible to justice."

Those with information on this case or any other unsolved homicide may also contact the Ohio Bureau of Criminal Investigation at 855-BCI-OHIO or submit a tip through the Ohio Attorney General's website.
