The Arizona Department of Public Safety says it'll have amplified DUI patrols in the Valley over Super Bowl weekend.
DPS said the patrols will begin at 6 p.m. on Sunday, Feb. 2 and continue through Monday morning, thanks to special funding from the Arizona Governor's Office of Highway Safety.
The department said it hopes the additional patrol officers will deter people from getting behind the wheel intoxicated.
DPS also said the added patrols will help with processing arrested drunken drivers more quickly.
A DUI Command Post will be set up at DPS headquarters at 2102 W. Encanta Blvd. in Phoenix.
