Update: Two firefighters injured in Hamilton house fire

HAMILTON, OH (FOX19) - Two firefighters were injured while battling a house fire in Hamilton on Thursday night.

The fire broke out around 10 p.m. in the 200 block of Race Street. Upon arrival, crews found a bedroom fire on the second floor of the two-family residence.

Hamilton officials say firefighters were initially told people were still inside on the second floor, but it later proved false. All occupants were able to safely escape the residence without issue.

The fire was brought under control quickly but two firefighters were injured after falling on an icy surface while battling the blaze. They were both taken to the emergency room for evaluation and their current condition has not been released.
