HAMILTON, OH (FOX19) -

Police have identified the victim in an early morning shooting outside of an apartment complex in Hamilton.

It was reported Friday just before 3 a.m. at the Indian Springs Apartments in the 300 block of Hampshire Drive. Responding officers found a man on the ground with multiple gunshot wounds. 

The victim, later identified as Derrick Brown, 34, was found conscious and taken to the University of Cincinnati Medical Center for treatment. His condition was not released.

Police said the suspect, who has not been identified or arrested, reportedly knew the victim. Authorities planned to obtain a search warrant for one apartment unit in the complex.
