LIBERTY, MO (KCTV) -

Authorities have located a man who fired shots at a deputy after a police chase in Liberty.

The Clay County Sheriff's Office identified the man as 37-year-old Elgin Dothage.

A deputy attempted to stop a vehicle believed to be driven by Dothage, who had felony warrants for his arrest.

The driver sped off and ended up dropping an injured passenger off while on the run.  That passenger was transported to a nearby hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.

Another deputy then spotted the vehicle on Northeast 127th Street and North Eastern Road. Authorities say he got out and fired at the deputy as he ran off.

No deputies sustained any injuries during the shooting.

Authorities set-up a perimeter in the area, and Dothage was taken into custody about 2:45 p.m. Sunday.

Charges for first-degree assault on a law enforcement officer are pending at this time.
