A man has been arrested and charged in connection with a reported street robbery and shooting Sunday night near the University of Cincinnati campus.
The incident was reported around 8 p.m. near the intersection of Jefferson Avenue at West Corry Street. Officers said a black male suspect robbed the victim of personal property and then shot him once in the lower left leg.
A short time later, campus police officers spotted a possible suspect vehicle. Authorities said a stop was attempted but the driver fled. After a traffic
pursuit, police said the vehicle crashed and the driver fled on foot.
A canine unit tracked the man, identified as 19-year-old Michael Davis III, in the 3500 block of Harvey Avenue. Davis was charged felonious assault, aggravated robbery, carrying a concealed weapon, possessing weapons while under disability, fleeing and eluding and receiving stolen property.
He is currently being held at the Hamilton County Justice Center.
