CINCINNATI (AP) - A federal judge has ordered Ohio authorities to recognize the marriages of gay couples performed in other states. Judge Timothy Black's ruling today criticized the state's "ongoing arbitrary discrimination on the basis of sexual orientation." He says the state's marriage recognition bans are unconstitutional and unenforceable.

CINCINNATI (AP) - A man who overdosed on heroin with his girlfriend at a McDonald's play area near Cincinnati last month has been sentenced to six months in jail for child endangering. Thirty-seven-year-old Robert Palmer was sentenced today by a Hamilton County municipal judge. He was convicted last month on two misdemeanor charges after a nonjury trial.

CINCINNATI (AP) - Officials are beginning to focus on restoration as crews clean up remnants of thousands of gallons of oil that leaked into a nature preserve near Cincinnati. Traces of oil could be seen on rocks along an intermittent stream in the Oak Glen Nature Preserve as media were allowed to tour the site today for the first time since a pipeline leaked in mid-March.

COLUMBUS, Ohio (AP) - Gas prices in Ohio are up again. The cost for a gallon of regular gas in Ohio averages $3.68 in today's survey from auto club AAA, the Oil Price Information Service and WEX Inc. That's up about 8 cents from a week ago.
