Former Ross teacher sentenced

HAMILTON, OH (FOX19) - A former Ross teacher was sentenced in Butler County Juvenile Court on Thursday to 180 days in jail for inappropriately touching a 17-year-old student, the Butler County Sheriff's Office announced.

Steven Morio pled guilty Thursday to contributing to the unruliness/delinquency of a minor, a first degree misdemeanor.

Morio resigned from the school last May, ending a 13-year career with the Ross Local School District. The sheriff's office said Morio provided the student with marijuana.

As part of the sentence, 150 days were suspended.

Morio will report to the jail on Feb. 14.
