INDEPENDENCE, KY (FOX19) - A Northern Kentucky soldier died Monday in Afghanistan, the Department of Defense announced Thursday.
Army Spc. Christopher Landis, 27, of Independence, died at Bagram Airfield from wounds he received when his patrol was attacked with a rocket propelled grenade in Kapisa Province, Afghanistan.
Landis was assigned to 2nd Battalion, 3rd Special Forces Group (Airborne), Fort Bragg, N.C.
His family declined comment.
