MT. AIRY, OH (FOX19) - Colerain Avenue is back open following a tanker fire in Mt. Airy.
A tanker truck carrying gasoline to a local gas station caught fire on Friday afternoon near Mount Airy Forest, shutting down a portion of Colerain Avenue for several hours.
Four houses were evacuated but residents were later allowed back into their homes.
The fire happened just before 1 p.m. on Colerain Avenue. The roadway between West North Bend Road and Virginia Avenue was shut down for over two hours.
The truck's cab was destroyed but the gasoline in the tanker didn't leak out. The fire didn't spread to the tanker portion of the vehicle.
