Johnny Cueto embraces role of Reds' ace

GOODYEAR, Ariz. (AP) - Johnny Cueto is doing interviews in English this spring, even though he's not totally comfortable with the language.

He sees it as a way of becoming more of a leader in the Cincinnati Reds' rotation.

The Reds' ace also is adjusting his delivery to avoid the muscle injuries that limited him most of last season. The change came after a discussion with manager Bryan Price, who was the team's pitching coach last season.

The Reds have one of the top rotations in the NL, as long as it can stay healthy. Mat Latos had minor surgery to repair torn knee cartilage on Friday. He was walking without pain or problem on Saturday. He'll be sidelined for a week to 10 days.
