Dana Propes from Adrian Durban Florists came on the FOX19 Morning Show share a few tips on preserving flowers!
Soda- ¼ cup of a clear soda into water makes blossoms last longer
Hairspray- spraying on the undersides of leaves and petals makes the flowers look fresh for longer
Sugar and Vinegar- a preservative you can make at home. Mix 3 tablespoons of sugar and 2 tablespoons of white vinegar with a quart of warm water. Make sure there is enough to cover 3-4 inches of the stems. Sugar nourishes plants, vinegar kills bacteria.
