Facebook stuns with $19 billion WhatsApp purchase
The app now has more than 450 million monthly users currently and is "on a path to reach over 1 billion people worldwide in the next few years," Mark Zuckerberg said.
The purchase price is insanely high for a startup with only 55 employees. And not to mention, it dwarfs Facebook's acquisition of Instagram for $1 billion in 2012.
Dear Abby shuts down anti-gay couple
Advice columnist "Dear Abby" received a letter this week from a couple penned as "Unhappy in Tampa." They recently moved to Florida, and in navigating the new neighborhood's social circle, they find that two couples in the neighborhood are gay.
They write, in part, "My husband and I did not include them when it was our turn to host because we do not approve of their lifestyle choices. Since then, we have been excluded from neighborhood gatherings, and someone even suggested that we are bigots!"
Dear Abby responded by shutting down the "lifestyle choice" argument and telling the couple that she "find[s] it interesting that you are unwilling to reciprocate the hospitality of people who welcomed you and opened their homes to you, and yet you complain because you are receiving similar treatment."
She ends by saying, "if you interact only with people like yourselves, you will have missed a chance for growth, which is what you have been offered here. Please don't blow it."

USA luger Kate Hansen spots a 'wolf' in her dorm hall
USA luge athlete Kate Hansen posted a video on YouTube of what appears to be a wolf roaming the halls of the dorms where the Olympic athletes stay.
It looks like a wolf. Of course it could just be another stray dog that sort of looks like one. Either way, Hansen should probably just shut her door.
