Winds are gusting to 35 mph in the warm air over the FOX19 viewing area. Similar gusts will develop this afternoon and evening everywhere and increase to about 45 mph. The wind will die down a bit tonight and get gusty again tomorrow afternoon.
The threat of severe weather is from gusty straight line winds. Timing is centered on 10PM and that means anytime after 8PM the western counties of our viewing area could be involved with wind gusts in excess of 57 mph. The last threat of sever storms for the Eastern counties will be around midnight.
Rain totals could be excessive, 1" to 1.75", in a short time leading to flash flooding. With the ground wet and or frozen several inches down runoff will be quick.
If you live near or travel a flood prone area be careful driving tonight.
