HYDE PARK, OH (FOX19) - 95-year-old George Raymond Drew is dead after a Friday afternoon fire in his Hyde Park home.

The fire happened just after 2 p.m. Friday in the 1100 block of East Rookwood Drive, which is a street that intersects with Edwards Road.

Authorities say that the fire originated in a second floor bedroom, near the rear of the house.

Crews arriving on the scene say one occupant had already exited the structure and informed firefighters that Drew was still inside on the second floor.

"There was an elderly gentleman that we found. We were able to pull him out of the building and he was transported to University Hospital," says District Chief Greg Potter.

Crews say that Drew was unconscious when they found him and was transferred to UC Medical Center where he was later pronounced dead.

Firefighters say that the fire was brought under control within 15 minutes. Damage has been estimated at $100,000

The cause of the fire is currently under investigation.

Drew was the founder of the Drew Law Firm and had practiced law for 74 years.
