Athens Halloween

OU, Athens officials try to keep Halloween under control

Halloween weekend is coming up, and Ohio University and Athens officials already are working on ways to keep the annual celebrations from getting out of control. Thousands of students and others are expected at Saturday night's uptown street party, which has led to police confrontations in previous years. Student senators and university officials are visiting students in nearby neighborhoods to warn them to behave themselves this weekend. The university also is offering alternative events to the street party, including a poker night, movies, concerts and performances.
