SOUTH FAIRMONT, OH (FOX19) - Police are investigating a home invasion and shooting early Monday morning in South Fairmount.
It was reported in the 2500 block of Mandery Avenue around 3:00 a.m. Police said two men broke inside the basement of a home. The homeowner heard noises, grabbed a gun and went downstairs.
One of suspects and the homeowner got into a struggle and the suspect was able to steal the homeowner's gun. Police said the homeowner grabbed another gun, and they fired shots at each other. The two suspects then immediately took off.
Moments later, two teens were arrested at a home about a mile away from the scene. One of the teens was shot in the leg and was taken to the University of Cincinnati Medical Center. The other suspect was not critically injured.
The homeowner was listed in stable condition.
The teens stated they were walking home when a black car with tinted windows started firing at them, according to police. Officers are investigating to determine if the two incidents were connected.
