CINCINNATI, OH (FOX19) - This week at the Mobile World Congress Procter & Gamble unveiled a $200 electric toothbrush that links to your smart phone and provides dental care guidance.
"Via Bluetooth 4.0 technology, the interactive electric toothbrush connects to the Oral-B App that provides real-time guidance while you brush and records brushing activity as data that you can chart on your own and share with dental professionals, helping to create smarter and more personalized brushing routines," P&G says.
Users can download the free app, which then syncs with the Smartseries 7000 toothbrush. As a user brushes, they can look at the smart phone app that will be guiding through areas that need to be cleaned via a diagram of the mouth.
The average consumer is not brushing for the full two minute dentist recommendation, according to P&G's Kris Parlett. Think you'd get bored brushing for that long? The Smartseries has the answer to that.
The app includes entertainment features like news feeds and videos to browse through while the two minutes are counted down.
Once brushing is finished, the app displays statistics of brushing performance with the abilities to compare brushing habits month-by month.
